Habit/Neurosis: Color fascination caused by Hebephrenic Schizophrenia. Basically Inner is fascinated by colors; she analyzes people and things with them, describes them as living things with thoughts and feelings, and uses them in bizarre ways to describe things. She’s frightened of them when she’s psychotic, and prefers black because it “drowns out all the other colors”.

Tenacious is the best word to describe her personality. Nothing sets her back for too long and she’s absolutely determined to succeed despite the circumstances of her birth, sexuality, or fragile sanity. She’s only aggressive when someone tries to rob her of her equilibrium and tranquility. Inner knows what she wants; a happy life. Indeed she believes she’s entitled to one and no one should rob her of this right. She won’t let anyone rob her of this right.

Nevertheless her personality is not selfish, and if anything she’s quite selfless because she believes while she’s entitled to a happy life, she believes her friends deserve one. So she has the unique need to protect and nurture if she can while attempting to never smother. Inner values friendships more than her own happiness. Inner likes to feel needed and loved. She is not naïve or stupid however, she can usually tell when not to associate with someone because they’re violent, manipulative, or just unpleasant and takes care to avoid such people. She doesn’t seek conflict however she will happily leap into one for a friend.

She’s a very hard worker and tries to never let anything distract her when she’s on a case. She has a direct and candid approach to situations and people, however she rarely steps on anyone’s toes because she knows how to be courteous even when being forward.

Her schizophrenia while treated by medication does manifest itself noticeably in her social interactions. Besides the color fascination she often “slides” out of reality or conversations. One minute she may be involved in the action and the next she will behave as if she is watching a movie; not interacting with real life other than being a spectator. She been known to stand off to the side during a fight and cheer her favorite combatant like she’s at a football game, never realizing anyone is actually being hurt or that she could be as well. In conversation this happens as well, where she suddenly stops speaking, or changes the subject bizarrely, or just stares. She “slips’ between the words and can often become frustrated when it does happen or tries to pretend as if nothing has happened by attempting to speak and usually she’s wildly off subject.

History

Appearence

There is a great deal of difference between an orphan and a simply unwanted child. An orphan has the possibility of having memories of their parents and of being loved by them. A child left at the Emergency Room one night on May 31st 1983, in Phoenix, Arizona US with no more than a name attached gets none of these comforts. Worse, as “Inner” grew up she often explored the possibility as she walked the streets of her hometown anyone on that street could be her mother or father. Well, perhaps not anyone. Due to her name (and she suspects “Inonue” is her mother’s name) she is probably at least of Japanese and Hispanic heritage but given her eye color and skin tone she probably has several ethnicities swimming in her blood. She’s an American Mutt really.

Though she bounced from foster home to foster home, Inner managed to have become a well adjusted, even charming, girl. Best of all by the time she entered her freshman year of high school; she had a girlfriend, all to herself. The girl’s name was Ana and she and Inner went together like mac and cheese. Inner was at the top of not just her class but her school; she was supplementing her education by taking English and Math courses at the local junior college along with easily maintaining a 4.0 grade average. A woman was even interested in adopting her, could things get better for the girl no one had wanted?

Then reality began to become too bright and overwhelming.

As the world’s borders suddenly began to bleed into her own her grades plummeted and when she began crying for no apparent reason while watching television or laughing hysterically during a lecture it became apparent something was terribly wrong. She began talking about being able to see “the color of emotions” or screaming that everything was “too red”. The grand finale came when she tried to rip a yellow dress off of Ana in a fit of psychosis during a date at a movie theater. She claimed that yellow was the “color of deception and jealousy” and if Ana continued to wear the dress she’d cheat on Inner.

The police were called and Inner was taken to the twenty four hour lock up. There she was diagnosed as a “Hebephrenic” or a “disorganized schizophrenic”. She was sent to a local mental hospital for youth for an entire year before she was stabilized enough to re-enter society.

Unfortunately Inner was not “cured” only stabilized and as such she continues to suffer from her disease. She was placed in a special orphanage for mentally unstable young adults. At first she became withdrawn as she found people hard to relate to and the world still too bright and colorful. She was given therapy to both learn to interact with people again and chemical therapy. Helped by this her grades began to climb to their old heights if not even higher as she tenaciously tore into her make-up work and soon not only caught up with her age level but surpassed it once again. She began leaving her dull bedroom and even began making friends with her old acquaintances.

However, Ana no longer wanted anything to do with her nor the woman previously interested in adopting her.

“I’m sorry, I just can’t deal with the idea I may have to sign papers to put you away again, but I’ll still be your friend.” The woman had tried to comfort her with a smile. Inner smiled back, and promptly threw everything out to do with the woman and her false promises and erased her phone number when she returned to the home.

Inner was aware Ana was ducking confronting her after these long two years and was in the process of locating her when she received information she was being looked into as a candidate for a school in England. She evaded giving an answer however until she found Ana.

Ana’s shock wasn’t exactly surprising when her “crazy ex-girlfriend” showed up at the coffee shop she now worked. Inner asked if she was still afraid of her, and Ana answered positively. Inner asked if she would kiss her one last time and Ana answered negatively. Inner had her answer and decided not to tell her first love how incredibly hurt and unfair she found everything. It would have been impossible to anyway as it was still so easy to get lost in words. So she left, she left the city, left the country, and went to England. A broken heart was not an excuse to not go on living.

Appearance:She’s a small girl, only about 5’3”, and 105 lbs. She often wears oversized dark clothes and her mahogany hair is usually worn in a messy ponytail. Her eyes are green and have a slight slant. Her lips are full, her nose flat, and her face is oval shaped. She has an olive skin tone that will probably lighten in the coming months as she is now out of the desert sun.

Inner often forgets things like shoes or brushing her hair if she is concentrating on something else, so it’s a rare thing if she actually looks like she put some effort into her appearance.
